<p>In the lead-up to Friday’s IPL 2024 opener against the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK), former South Africa great AB de Villiers sent his best wishes to his buddy and former teammate Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).</p>

<p>The former captain of the RCB is scheduled to make his comeback to competitive cricket in almost two months after choosing not to play in the just-completed home Test series against England. Since the last IPL, he has only participated in two T20 matches, one of which was against Afghanistan in January.</p>
<p>After a two-month break, De Villiers posted a photo of himself and his close buddy on social media with the comment, “Good luck, my biscuit,” in honor of Kohli’s IPL 2024 comeback. Come on, RCB.</p>
<p>With his incredible record of 7,263 runs in 237 games, Kohli leads all run scorers in the competition. Throughout his IPL career, he has amassed 50 fifties and seven hundreds, the most for a hitter.</p>
<p>The 35-year-old hitter was fourth in runs scored during the previous season with a 53.25 average and a 139.82 strike rate. His highest rating was 101*.</p>
<p>In the 31 games that the two sides have played, the yellow brigade has prevailed. RCB has won ten of the matches, while CSK has won twenty and one has resulted in a draw.</p>
<p>At Chennai’s M A Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, RCB takes on five-time champions CSK in an attempt to win their first-ever IPL championship.</p>
<p>Regarding RCB’s record at M A Chidambaram Stadium, the Bengaluru squad hasn’t triumphed there since the opening campaign.</p>
<p>Eight games between the two teams have taken place in Chennai, with CSK winning four and RCB’s lone victory being in 2008.</p>
<p>After losing to Gujarat Titans in their league final, RCB was eliminated from the tournament in its previous iteration. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings defeated the Titans in a thrilling summit match to claim their fifth championship.</p>
