Sourav Ganguly's exuberant comment on the "remarkable" MS Dhoni: "CSK have shown how to win big matches"

Sourav Ganguly, a former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was all praise for MS Dhoni after the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) staged a dramatic comeback after a forgettable season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Yellow Brigade's miserable season in 2022 came to an end as Dhoni's CSK finished ninth in the 10-team competition. Dhoni's CSK made history in the 2023 IPL season by being the first team to reach the championship game.
The defending champions qualified for the playoffs by securing the second slot on the IPL 2023 points chart. Chennai collected 17 points during the course of 14 games with eight victories and five losses. Dhoni's CSK defeated Hardik Pandya and company by 15 runs in their Qualifier 1 match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Chepauk to advance to the championship game of the lucrative league.

Former India captain Ganguly hailed Dhoni for orchestrating CSK's comeback in the current season in an interview with India Today during the IPL 2023 playoffs. “MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings have been outstanding. They have shown how to win crucial games. In his role as captain, Dhoni has excelled. He has shown how to win crucial games, according to Ganguly.
While Ganguly's Delhi Capitals (DC) had a dismal season in the premier league, Dhoni led CSK to the IPL 2023 final. David Warner led DC to a ninth-place finish in the 10-team competition. This season, the Rishabh Pant-less team lost nine games.
The Delhi Capitals' director of cricket operations, Ganguly, also made a particular note of the IPL's up-and-coming players. “Yashasvi Jaiswal performed well, as did Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel, and Yashasvi. For Punjab Kings, Jitesh (Sharma) displayed strong performance. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav have performed effectively together. They have performed really well in the massive IPL Tournament, according to Ganguly.
