Employee Layoffs at Amazon Music Streaming Start; Amounts Not Known

More than 27,000 workers of the retail behemoth have been impacted by many waves of layoffs over the last year, and said on Wednesday that it has started reducing staff in its Music section.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-276869″ src=”” alt=” sahadeb sarkar is named director in charge of iim calcutta download 2023 11 10t161″ width=”1416″ height=”793″ title=”Employee Layoffs at Amazon Music Streaming Start; Amounts Not Known 6″ srcset=” 300w,×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1416px) 100vw, 1416px” />

According to those acquainted with the situation, workers throughout Europe, North America, and Latin America got news that their employment had been cut on Wednesday. A representative for Amazon verified the termination once being contacted by Reuters. She refused to disclose the number of affected workers.

According to a statement she released, “We have been closely monitoring our organizational needs and prioritizing what matters most to customers and the long-term health of our businesses.” The Amazon Music team has terminated a few positions. We’ll keep making investments in Amazon Music.

A survey of Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification sites revealed that none of the company’s major employee centers—Washington state, where Amazon is headquartered, California, or New York—had filed for mass layoffs.

The layoffs occur as Amazon revealed third-quarter net profitability that significantly above analyst projections and predicted broadly in-line sales for the year’s last quarter. Given that it include Christmas shopping, Amazon’s most important quarter is the fourth one.

Over the last month, Amazon has been discreetly reducing employment, including that of communications personnel in its Studios, Video, and Music businesses.

In addition to podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, Apple, Alphabet’s Google, and Amazon Music are competitors that provide paid, limitless music streaming services. Earlier this year, it increased the monthly membership cost by $1 to $10.99.
