Long-Term Injury Awaits Manchester City’s John Stones, According to Manager Pep Guardiola

John Stones, a defender for Manchester City, sustained an injury during Tuesday’s 3-0 victory against Young Boys, and will likely be out for a considerable amount of time.

After being substituted at halftime at the Etihad Stadium, the England center defender is probably going to be out for a significant amount of time, according to City manager Pep Guardiola.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-273945″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-long-term-injury-awaits-manchester-citys-john-stones-according-to-manager-pep-guar-1.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com long term injury awaits manchester citys john stones according to manager pep guar 1″ width=”1526″ height=”1018″ title=”Long-Term Injury Awaits Manchester City's John Stones, According to Manager Pep Guardiola 12″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-long-term-injury-awaits-manchester-citys-john-stones-according-to-manager-pep-guar-1.jpg 640w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-long-term-injury-awaits-manchester-citys-john-stones-according-to-manager-pep-guar-1-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1526px) 100vw, 1526px” />

Before playing again in October, Stones had already missed the first ten games of the season due to a hip ailment he had suffered in the preseason.

In response to a question about how long Stones would be out, Guardiola replied, “Yeah, I think he will be out a while.” I’m quite sad for him.

The injury to Stones is a setback for Premier League leaders City, who will need to contend with Liverpool and Tottenham after the international break in November.

The fact that Manuel Akanji had a back issue during the pre-game warm-up and Kyle Walker had to be substituted in the final minute for the Swiss defender only served to compound Guardiola’s injury troubles.

Guardiola may choose to rest players in the next two group games and focus on the Premier League matchups against Tottenham and Crystal Palace, since City has also gone undefeated in their previous 17 Champions League games.

City’s victory against Young Boys guaranteed them a spot in the Champions League round of 16, which means Guardiola may rest players for their last two group games.

“Manu was having back issues. Regretfully, John felt hurt once again, according to Guardiola.

It’s a significant loss for us. He is really significant in what he does. Because the season is lengthy, he will recuperate. He’ll return more powerful.
