<p>The Namo Bharat, India’s first regional fast rail, began service between Sahibabad and Duhai station on October 21 and is now preparing to alter its operating hours. The train would reportedly run six days a week from 6 am to 10 pm instead of its previous schedule of 6 am to 11 pm. <p>According to officials, the low traffic at the aforementioned stations is the reason for the decision to change the scheduling. When ridership starts to rise, the time will probably be adjusted.</p>
<p>An NCRTC official says this:</p>
<p>Giving further information regarding the same NCRTC official, they state that Namo Bharat was never intended for inter-city travel, and the 17 kilometer priority stretch was introduced as an experimental project. Ridership is currently not used as a metric to evaluate the program’s performance since it only operates on a 17 km stretch of Ghaziabad. Ridership will naturally rise as soon as the Duhai to Meerut commercial service starts, most likely in March.</p>

<p>In the meantime, during the first week of operation, the Namo Bharat had 47,255 riding in total, with an average of 6,751. The authorities haven’t yet looked over the November ridership statistics, however.</p>

<p>According to information released by the NCRTC, the train’s average occupancy for its five regular coaches—including the women’s reserved ones—was 75% during the first week of operation. While 25% of the luxury coach was occupied.</p>
