Mercedes F1 Boss: “Our Car Does Not Deserve to Win a Race”

On Sunday, Mercedes, the victors of the previous season, were dealt a nightmare in Brazil when their disgruntled team manager Toto Wolff said their Formula One vehicle was no better than a three-wheeler and that it didn’t deserve to win a race this year.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-270687″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-aaj-ki-party-chiku-ki-taraf-se-is-how-ranveer-singh-commemorates-virat-kohlis-cent.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com aaj ki party chiku ki taraf se is how ranveer singh commemorates virat kohlis cent” width=”1262″ height=”840″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-aaj-ki-party-chiku-ki-taraf-se-is-how-ranveer-singh-commemorates-virat-kohlis-cent.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-aaj-ki-party-chiku-ki-taraf-se-is-how-ranveer-singh-commemorates-virat-kohlis-cent-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1262px) 100vw, 1262px” title=”Mercedes F1 Boss: "Our Car Does Not Deserve to Win a Race" 3″>

Max Verstappen of Red Bull won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, his 17th of the season and the team’s 19th in 20 races, while Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, finished eighth for Mercedes and George Russell withdrew.

The most recent victory for the once-dominant squad came at Interlagos in November when Russell and Hamilton won one-two, but Mercedes was not even close.

Wolff completely agreed with Hamilton when he said on Saturday how keen he was to put his uncontrollably handling vehicle in the past at the conclusion of the season.

The Austrian called the performance “inexcusable” on Sky Sports. Even words cannot express it.

“Whatever we did to that vehicle was terrible since it finished second both last week and the week before. Lewis made it out there alive, but GeorgeI feel bad for the two people that are driving such a horrible vehicle.

“It demonstrates how challenging the vehicle is,” Wolff went on. “It’s perilously close.

The world champions we are on sprint race weekends are obviously not us. That automobile drove nearly like it had three wheels instead of four.

“A victory is not deserved by this automobile. We must persevere through the last two races and heal.
