Pakistan Recalls Past Nightmare in Bengaluru with Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson Show

At Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, 14 days ago, Pakistan had to witness a nightmare as Australia’s Mitchell Marsh and David Warner tore apart their bowling, amassing 259 runs for the first wicket.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-267461″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-this-jharkhand-government-program-provides-free-air-tickets-and-placement-for-stud.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com this jharkhand government program provides free air tickets and placement for stud” width=”1413″ height=”784″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-this-jharkhand-government-program-provides-free-air-tickets-and-placement-for-stud.jpg 301w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-this-jharkhand-government-program-provides-free-air-tickets-and-placement-for-stud-150×83.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1413px) 100vw, 1413px” title=”Pakistan Recalls Past Nightmare in Bengaluru with Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson Show 3″>

Similar to that day, Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first on Saturday, thus implying that he and his players were deserving of punishment for making the same error once again. Australia’s trans-Tasman foes New Zealand, led by the dynamic duo of Rachin Ravindra and comeback man Kane Williamson, forced them to journey back in time on Saturday.

Ravindra bat fascinates you more and more the more you watch him. His batting is visually appealing in every way, and he demonstrated this once again against Pakistan by driving, pulling, flicking, and even playing an upper cut to advance the New Zealand innings.

The 23-year-old is a youthful Turk from a bygone age in a game where agricultural shots are almost a must have for a batter’s arsenal. He can play strokes all over the ground and has a solid foundation.

Rachin demonstrated his strength off the front foot early in his innings and later on, when he hit Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf for six and four in the span of three overs, that he also had a good backfoot game.

“Sachin! Sachin!” echoed across the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai ten years ago, marking Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement from international cricket. Ten years later, the sizable assembly at Chinnaswamy Stadium demonstrated that a chant capable of rhyming the fabled phrases existed, chanting “Rachin! Rachin!” to each boundary from his blade.

When he finally reached his century off 89 balls, the spectators stood to cheer for a true rising star. Urging the situation even further, Ravindra was dismissed for 108 off 94 balls. His expression betrayed his disappointment, yet the audience applauded him profusely for his innings.

The story was rather different at the opposite end. Williamson had not played since October 13 and had seen the Kiwis fall from first place on the standings to fourth in the next 20 days, putting them in a scenario where a victory was imperative.

Williamson had an underwhelming start to his return as he came in to bat in the eleventh over. On a calm surface, however, with the bite of the bowling soon wearing off, he found his groove and matched Ravindra to keep New Zealand’s innings rolling.

Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson are the four best batsmen of this generation. The Kiwi has proven time and time again that he is possibly the best spinner in the game, and he displayed this side of his game against Pakistan when he bravely decided to go inside out against the spin in order to counter the off breaks bowled by Salman Agha and Iftikhar Ahmed. He was rewarded with a six and a four.

At this tournament, this was the Williamson that the world had been waiting to see. After reaching his fifty in 49 balls, he quickened his pace to match Hasan Ali’s and Haris Rauf’s to force Babar Azam to perspire more under the Bengaluru sun.

In his comeback match, a hundred would have been the ultimate return, but he was dismissed for 95 off 79 balls while attempting to match the pace of the innings.

In 140 balls, Williamson and Ravindra had scored 180 runs. The Ravindra-Williamson stance represented restrained violence, while the Warner-Marsh alliance relied only on force. Pakistan was relieved when the latter fell in the 35th over of the innings, but they also knew that they had been forced to endure a nightmare from the past once again.
